Bee Inspired, Wisals Hive Lesson
Queen Bee die, will 50,000 bees collapse and die?
When a queen bee dies, the hive doesn’t just lose a leader — it loses its future. The queen is the only bee who lays eggs. Without her, there will be no new life. No workers. No foragers. No future. It’s a quiet crisis that could lead to the death of the entire colony — 50,000 bees or more.
But the bees don’t panic.
They don’t scatter.
They act.
With complete unity and speed, the hive begins a process of hope and survival. The worker bees identify several very young larvae — not special ones, just ordinary bee babies. Then, they make an extraordinary decision: they begin feeding them queen food, also known as royal jelly.
This substance is powerful. It doesn’t just nourish — it transforms. The larvae that eat it will grow bigger, stronger, and live much longer. Most importantly, one of them will become the new queen. A new leader. A new future.
The bees don’t wait for a miracle. They build one.
They don’t look for someone “born” to lead. They make a leader — together.
It’s one of the most intelligent, selfless acts in nature. A community in crisis chooses not to give up, but to lift up.
And if we’re paying attention, this small creature can teach us something profound about ourselves.
At Wisal’s Bees, watching this process unfold in a few of our hives has been deeply humbling. The bees are showing us that strength doesn’t come from chaos or control — it comes from unity, service, and shared responsibility. Their survival depends not on one special bee, but on their collective effort to support the one who will carry them forward.
As humans, we’re often told that leadership is inherited, or that greatness comes from power or personality. But the bees tell another story:
The queen is not born. She is made.
Made by a community that believes in transformation.
Made through nourishment — not just of the body, but of trust, support, and vision.
This isn’t far from what Islam teaches us.
> "Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves."
(Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:11)
Change begins within. Growth happens when we take responsibility — not just for ourselves, but for those around us.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
> "The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others."
The bees live this hadith without speaking a word. Their entire world is built on service, collaboration, and sacrifice for the greater good. No one hoards resources. No one works alone. They survive and thrive by building each other up.
> "And cooperate in righteousness and piety…"
(Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:2)
In today’s world, it’s easy to focus only on ourselves. But the hive reminds us that true prosperity comes from helping others rise. When we feed someone "queen food" — whether it's encouragement, mentorship, opportunity, or care — we’re helping not just them, but our whole community.
Let’s act like the bees.
Support each other in times of crisis.
Raise new leaders from unexpected places.
Choose unity over pride, action over complaint, and service over self.
Because when one of us is lifted with love, we all rise.
And when we work together — like the bees — we don’t just survive.
We build a future.
Ameen.
