🚨 RECALL: Certain FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors are providing incorrect low glucose readings.

The FDA released a recall of the FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus after testing confirmed the devices were not accurately measuring glucose levels. Both devices are medical sensors that help people manage their diabetes.

Incorrect low glucose readings over an extended period may lead to incorrect treatment decisions for people living with diabetes, such as excessive carbohydrate intake or skipping or delaying insulin doses. These decisions may pose serious health risks, including potential injury or death, or other less serious complications.

The device manufacturer, Abbott, received 736 reports of adverse effects related to incorrect glucose readings across the world, 57 of which were in the United States. 7 people outside of the U.S. have died from complications potentially related to the issue.

Only specific FreeStyle Libre 3 or FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors are impacted. No other devices or products from Abbott are recalled. Go to FreeStyleCheck.com to see if your device is safe to use. Abbott will replace your sensor for free if it is affected by the recall.
