✨ What a beautiful evening we had at the Hale Makua Wailuku Obon celebration last week! ✨

This is such a special tradition that we get to celebrate with our residents, and we are thankful to our community partners who help us put this on each year. Our residents also got some special treats like shaved ice, cotton candy, and popcorn! It was such a wonderful evening full of connection, culture, and aloha. 🌺

🌺 Please join us in welcoming Rodrigo Santos, Hale Makua Kahului’s new Administrator! 🌺

Rodrigo comes to us from Haven Health in Camp Verde, Arizona, where he served as Executive Director overseeing operations, compliance, budgeting, and staffing. With a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Denver, he brings strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for delivering high-quality care.

💬 “I’m beyond excited to join the amazing team at Hale Makua! It feels like the perfect place to grow, give back, and be part of something truly special,” shares Rodrigo.

Rod's been here a few weeks already, and he is already fitting right into our Hale Makua 'ohana. We're really so grateful to have him on board!

🌸✨ Last week, we had an unforgettable night at Hale Makua Kahului Obon celebration! Every year, we come together to honor our loved ones and share in the joyful spirit of bon dance. 💃🕺 We danced, connected, ate onolicious food, and honor our traditions together under the stars.

🎉 Congratulations to Angie Saiki, RN on 45 amazing years with Hale Makua!

A few weeks ago we celebrated Angie's 45 years of service at Hale Makua, and it was very clear to see that Angie truly loves her job here. “Hale Makua is my bread and butter,” Angie said, sharing how her career here helped her raise her family, see her kids through college, and travel the world, from Jerusalem to Turkey and Greece! 🌍

Angie considers her residents and co-workers family, and for 15 years she even served as Hale Makua’s nurses union representative, advocating for her fellow nurses and helping make our workplace better for everyone.

Mahalo Angie for your incredible dedication and heart. You are such a special part of our Hale Makua ohana! 💙
