🎄Mele Kalikimaka from all of us at Hale Makua! Last week we celebrated the season with our residents by putting on a Christmas program at each of our facilities. The program was filled with fun, laughter, and entertainment. Mahalo to all that came and brought joy to our residents this holiday season! 🎅🎄

Free Kealaho'imai TEAS Prep course for Pre-Nursing Students sponsored by Hui No Ke Ola Pono and University of Hawai'i Maui College! Spring 2026 Cohort, February 9 to April 25th, 2026.
Tuesdays 6-8pm online via Zoom
Fridays 6-9pm in-person at UH Maui College Kahului campus!

This free hybrid course will review the four knowledge areas tested on the TEAS including reading, math, science and English/language usage. Students will meet twice per week (one on Zoom and one in-person) and complete Mometrix’s Online ATI TEAS Test Success Course. After passing the course, students will be required to take the TEAS by 05/30/2026 and their exam fee will be paid for.

🎄✨ Celebrating Our Maui Ohana ✨🎄

We were honored to celebrate our incredible employees at Hale Makua Wailuku, Hale Makua Kahului, Hale Makua Adult Day Health, Care Homes, Kālele Care Services, and Home Health Maui at our annual Christmas party! From delicious food and dancing to games, contests, and amazing prizes, the evening was filled with laughter, gratitude, and plenty of holiday cheer.

A special highlight of the celebration was recognizing our 2025 Ohana Champion—a team member who was nominated and voted by their peers for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment truly reflect the heart of our Ohana.

🌟 Big congratulations to Hale Makua’s very own, Evangeline “Angie” Bautista, CNA at Wailuku, for receiving the great honor as our 2025 Ohana Champion! This was a well-deserved recognition, and we are so privileged to have Angie on our team for nearly 45 years!

💜🚶‍♀️Last week Sat. 11/22, we proudly joined the Walk to End Alzheimer at Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, supporting a special cause that touches so many families, including our kūpuna. ☀️It was a beautiful and great day to walk as ! 🙌 Our team's dedication to the community inspired us to show up as one ʻohana. 🤙 Mahalo for our team and all who attended the walk for supporting this amazing cause.

✨We had a successful day at the Senior Fair put on by the County of Maui on Aging in the Queen Ka'ahumanu Center!

We were thrilled to partner with the University of Hawai'i Maui College Dental Hygiene program students, who provided essential head and neck extra oral exams to seniors. Mahalo to Mona and Ruby from Home Health by Ohana Pacific Health Maui and Erin from Kālele Care Services for representing Hale Makua at our booth! 🤙

❤️ Seniors who visited all the stations at the fair were entered in a drawing for prizes from the different vendors. One lucky attendee won a Hale Makua Straw Hat!

On Wednesday, November 12, Hale Makua had the honor of welcoming Mr. Tadashi Yanai, his team from TY Management and Uniqlo Hawaii along with representatives from ピースウィンズ・ジャパン　Peace Winds Japan the County of Maui and the The Sentry PGA TOUR designated non-profits for a special event. During the event, Mr. Yanai presented a generous check for $750,000 to support the incredible work these non-profits continue to do for the Maui community.

With deep appreciation, our CEO Wesley Lo spoke at the event and named Mr. Yanai as an honorary member of Hale Makua and welcomed him as a part of our Maui community.

📢 We’re excited to share that Erin Salez is our New Clinical Operations Manager for Kālele Care Services in Maui and Kaua’i!

Erin brings years of experience in social services, care management, and compassionate leadership, serving in various roles as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in behavioral health, payer-sponsored care management, and other clinical settings. As the New Clinical Operations Manager, she will provide critical support to our Kālele team on Maui and Kauaʻi, while also growing our presence on Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island—supporting more of our community across the continuum of care and help bridge the gaps in services within our delivery system.
