I think cost is definitely one of the biggest things stopping people from getting a massage… and I totally get it. Life is very expensive and there are many other things that take priority.
But I wonder…
Are you one of those people that mindlessly taps their card and then wonders where all their money has gone at the end of the month?
Do you you have 3+ Stanley’s, 10 different lip pencils, themed decor for every holiday or a bunch of other random stuff that TikTok made you feel like buying even though you truly don’t really need it?
Are you stressed, sore, tight, run down? In desperate need of a massage but still haven’t committed to booking one?
This isn’t to judge or shame anyone. I’m just as guilty as anyone else! I’ve just been thinking a lot about the ways that marketing tricks us into buying things that we end up throwing away or never using. I’m focusing on putting my money where my mouth is and spending it on things I truly value, which includes my health. And I’d like to encourage you to do the same.
If you put $25 away each week into a “health & wellness” savings account, you could afford a 60 min massage once a month or a 90 min massage every 6 weeks.
Getting a massage every 1-2 months is a great starting place for regular massage and can have a profound impact on your stress, energy levels, posture, tension and overall vitality. When you break it down into little $25 chunks, it doesn’t seem too out of reach. And imagine all the other things you waste $25 on without even remembering!
And if that’s still outside your budget but you do want to invest in bodywork, don’t forget that you can get a student massage at Aloha Massage Academy for $45 an hour!
We all work hard for our money and we should spend it on things that enrich our lives. That can come in many forms… travel, therapy, staycation, healthy meal and of course, bodywork 🤍
