Don’t’ get me wrong- ask for all the things that feel supportive for babe. But I just feel like it’s baby shower, baby registry, how is the baby doing?

a baby is born,
And so is a mother.
And so is a father.
And sometimes two mothers.
And sometimes two fathers.
And so is a family.
And so is a family.

Kinda feel like turning the whole script upside down from baby centered to- motherbaby, family centered community care. Acknowledging the needs of everyone individually, collectively and the web that weaves them together.

A little story share-
I was doing a prenatal for a mama in which we cover all areas of care- talking story what’s coming up, some massage and then check in on babe. I have learned a language of palpation through massage but I’m still fairly new at palpating bellies. I felt pretty confident in babes positioning and was checking heart tones and had a hard time finding them. Instead of going into a force spiral of thinking I knew, I returned to humility. I turned to mom and handed her the fetoscope. Through that simple gesture—
- I was acknowledging her intuitive knowing of babes positioning
- In a moment that sometimes raises the energy, instead fostered grounding & empowering the mother baby connection
- And indirectly saying you know most about your baby

After the shift in energy, I did end up finding the heart tones and babe was doing amazing.

I believe midwifery care is rooted in nurturing all aspects of mom, babe & the family unit. Walking alongside the women- acknowledging the wisdom of the practitioner AND the innate wisdom of the mother baby. Deeply honoring her birth, and sitting at the altar of her prayer in reverence, empowerment & sisterhood.

moon musings from last cycle|| the moon always invokes my watery depths and also my words but more in a whispering kind of way.
Do you bleed with the full moon or new moon?
I slowly oscillate between the two
Been in a full moon womb pattern for a while

I feel like when you bleed with the new moon and ovulate with the full moon it is a tone of alignment, centeredness, forward gliding. Your shadow & radiance align with the cosmic expression. You dive deeeeep into the swings of your polarity, the darkest of dark and lightest of light.

And then if you bleed with the full moon and ovulate with the new moon it is a tone of balancing, holding frequency, transformation, finding your own way. When the cosmos are in the depths of shadow you are in full illumination. When the light shines brightest, you descend even deeper.

Is there anything more yummy than hot stones during a massage? 🤤 Personally I LOVE to incorporate heat into massages as it increases circulation, promotes relaxation and softens the tissues— helping me to provide utmost relief to those areas of pain and tension! Best part….
