💵 Copay vs. Coinsurance — Know the Difference

These two terms decide how much YOU pay after your insurance kicks in:

✔️ Copay = a fixed dollar amount
(Example: $20 for an office visit)

✔️ Coinsurance = a percentage of the bill
(Example: 20% of the cost, insurance pays the other 80%)

Think of it like filling a thermometer (slide 2)
you pay 100% of your medical costs until you hit that number 💰

Example:
If your deductible is $1,000, you pay that amount out of pocket.
After that, your insurance starts sharing the bill.

💡 The higher your deductible, the lower your monthly premium — but the more you’ll pay upfront.
