About Me

I approach therapy through a collaborative, strengths-based and humanistic lens—believing strongly in each person’s ability to pursue their highest potential. However, trauma or emotional wounds can create barriers to personal success and contentment. I believe our past, particularly our experiences as a child or adolescent substantially affects how we live in and perceive the world today. It has been my personal and professional experience that often one’s ancestral heritage has effects upon their identity and values, whether the lineage is known or not. In response, we sometimes develop coping behaviors that do not serve our life goals and disrespect our values. These behaviors can be unconscious, and while they may have worked to soothe or keep us safe for a time, inevitably they work against us and create more emotional pain.

Sometimes talk therapy isn’t the best way to uncover the root of what’s holding us back and so I offer Expressive Arts Therapy as a way to discover and safely explore what is standing in the way of your goals for wellbeing. I also incorporate principles and techniques from Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Hakomi and dream work. It is most important to me to create a space where you feel safe and valued as the quality of the therapeutic relationship highly influences whether you experience a favorable outcome in your personal therapy.

My scope of practice includes:
