I happened to hear the 10.21.22 episode of NPR's podcast, The F Word. I highly recommend listening to the episode including ways that initial info on how higher weights correlated to covid severity was proven false and ways weight and the horribly named obesity diagnosis are stigmatized.

As daylight ebbs in the Midwest mindful walking outdoors becomes increasingly important towards mood regulation. I love visiting local parks to watch the ways the changing light & moisture affects the landscape.

Every day I set an intention of experiencing tiny spots of joy. Easy activities like spontaneous dancing, baby talking the dog on our walks, and food. Glorious, soul nourishing food. There are so many potential pitfalls around our relationship w food, centering yourself to nourish the body and the pleasure center of the brain can be difficult. And sometimes unnecessary- sometimes it's all about pleasure (although as a bike racer you can convince me that a jalapeño cheet-o serves another purpose, like salt replenishment). Lately I've been craving warm grains, like oats cooked w apples, dried fruit & whole almonds. I eat throughout the day, adding warm soy milk & cinnamon & drizzled w honey.
