Today marked the final day of our Mindful Moves program at YBL, and I’m filled with gratitude.
Over the past four weeks, I had the joy of guiding our youth through powerful wellness practices designed to build not just healthier habits—but healthier futures. We explored mindful breathing to help manage emotions, discovered the power of affirmations to boost confidence, learned about healthy snack alternatives, and practiced combining breath with movement to create calm in the body and mind. Families also received a special Sports Family Wellness Guide created specifically for YBL families—a tool to support wellness at home and deepen the impact beyond the sessions.
These aren’t just one-time lessons. They are tools. And when shared with young people, they become the roots of something bigger.
This work is about building generational health—equipping our youth with the knowledge and confidence to take care of themselves and, one day, their families and communities. When we invest in their well-being now, we shift patterns, interrupt cycles, and sow seeds that can grow for generations.
I’m thankful to Charlies P.L.A.C.E. and the YBL team for the opportunity to pour into our youth in this way. It's an honor to witness them light up with understanding, curiosity, and pride in their wellness.
Here’s to raising strong, mindful, and empowered young people—because the habits we teach today create the legacy we leave tomorrow.
