After several years of being busy and overwhelmed with my therapy practice, I finally have the space in my schedule to offer parenting workshops again. I've also had time to think about some changes I've wanted to make to the workshop format for quite some time. Since I started offering Love and Logic workshops in 2009, I have gained experience and wisdom that has made it more and more difficult to use the curriculum as it was written. I have added additional content and explanations that always made it very difficult to fit everything into a manageable time frame and the workshop would either need to be longer sessions, a higher number of sessions, or the elimination of some of the important content. I have experimented with all of those options.
I have decided to experiment with offering a virtual parenting workshop which will not include the videos and workbook that I have used in the past. It will contain the same strategies and concepts but without the lengthy and somewhat outdated videos and workbook. I will teach the strategies and concepts myself, with discussion and slides and handouts and the same opportunity for questions and participation as I have offered during live workshops in the past, but in a more efficient manner. The workshop will be on Monday evenings starting January 15th. With it being a virtual workshop, my hope is to eliminate the need for a babysitter, to appeal to people who may be busy and overwhelmed, and offer it to people both in and outside the Kalamazoo community.
I am also offering a no cost virtual Meet and Greet for anyone who would like more information before committing to the 6 week virtual workshop. This will be on January 8th from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
If you or anyone you know would be interested in this re-vamped parenting workshop, please feel free to contact me and to share with your friends. I'm excited about the prospect of having people across the state or country participate with their friends or family in Kalamazoo.
