Hi everyone
Shanti is going to host a bin for a food pantry, 12 baskets starting next week and probably through the rest of the year. This will be a collection for non perishable foods. I will drop off the food as it fills up.

The pantry is finding the numbers are increasing very fast and it’s getting harder to keep the protein foods in stock.

List of needed items:
Shelf life milk
Peanut Butter
Knorr packets
Canned meats of all kinds
Cereal hot & cold
Canned stews
Soups with meats

Twelve Baskets is also searching for egg and meat suppliers that would consider partnering with them as well.

Hope Thomas, LMT - she/they

Hope graduated from Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts in 2019 with a keen interest in pursuing Craniosacral Therapy. They had been introduced to Cranial work during school and found it to have a profoundly deep impact on their nervous system, both as a client and as a practitioner. Shortly after graduation, Hope completed Craniosacral Therapy 1 through Upledger Institute.

While in Kalamazoo, Hope practiced Hospice massage as well as working at the West Michigan Cancer Center as a massage therapist. Working with these populations, Hope learned the importance of meeting clients where they are at and holding space for however that may show up.

In the fall of 2020, Hope moved to Seattle, Washington, where they continued their education by completing Craniosacral Therapy 2 through Upledger. While living in Seattle, Hope was able to hone in on her unique blend of bodywork with the incredible support and encouragement of her mentor and employer at The Still Point Massage Therapy Clinic.

Hope enjoys weaving Craniosacral Therapy alongside swedish massage, acupressure, myofascial facilitation, direction of energy, and cupping. Their intention as a bodyworker is to deeply listen to each client’s body and gently offer space, as well as physical, energetic, and emotional relief with a grounded presence and loving kindness. Clients also have the option to remain fully clothed for their appointment if they want to experience a fully Craniosacral session.

Outside of massage therapy, Hope is also a musician, artist, and devoted aunt, daughter, and sister.

Shanti would like to welcome Melissa to our team. For appointments please call
at 269-344-7066

Melissa studied at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, OR and obtained her license in 2016. She taught couples massage workshops and practiced Shiatsu, Reiki, Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Cranial Sacral modalities - as well as a variety of spa treatments. Melissa began working with her feet in 2018 after studying Ashiatsu DeepFeet Bar Therapy with Nancy DeLong. Using her feet and gravity allows her to utilize a broad tool and deep, slow pressure to melt through layers of fascia with minimal discomfort, creating more space and increased circulation. Clients report feeling lighter, taller, and freer in their movement after an Ashiatsu session.

When she’s not practicing bodywork, she spends her time picnicking, exploring the area’s nature preserves, making mail art and keeping the art of letter writing alive, reading, cooking plant-based meals, and worshipping her cat. She is passionate about using native plants in landscaping and home gardens and volunteers with Kalamazoo Area Wild Ones, serving on the executive board and editing their monthly newsletter.
