OutFront Kalamazoo is a vital local resource offering support, connection, and safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults in our community. Their programs create welcoming environments where young people can build friendships, access guidance, and feel affirmed for who they are.

OutFront provides weekly youth groups, family meet-ups, mentorship opportunities, and social activities designed to build confidence and community. They also offer housing support through programs like Legacy House, a transitional living option for young adults experiencing housing instability.

If you know a young person who could benefit from a supportive, inclusive space — or if you want to learn more about OutFront’s mission — visit their page and explore ways to get connected, volunteer, or support their work.

Our Hometown Holidays celebration on Friday, December 12th was full of festive fun and community spirit! 🎄✨ Individuals Served, staff, family members, and friends came together to enjoy a holiday meal made possible by generous food donations. Staff and board members volunteered their time to serve food, helping make the evening extra special.

Holiday music filled the room, Individuals Served enjoyed taking photos with Santa, and the afternoon wrapped up with a raffle for both staff and Individuals Served—plus holiday gift bags for Individuals Served to take home. Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration such a joyful way to kick off the holiday season!

Staying active in winter doesn’t require a gym—simple stretching, short walks, or light at-home exercises can boost energy and mood during the colder months. Encourage those couch potatoes to get up and get moving!

What a joyful way to celebrate the season 🎶✨

Yesterday, consumers from CLO’s Alcott Day Program gathered at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church Portage, MI for a special holiday concert. Our Individuals Served took the stage and shared several festive songs with the community, spreading cheer and holiday spirit throughout the room. After the performance, everyone enjoyed cookies and snacks while spending time together and celebrating the moment.

We are so proud of our performers and grateful to St. Barnabas Church for welcoming us and helping create such a warm, memorable experience for all involved. Moments like these highlight the power of community, inclusion, and shared joy during the holiday season.

December highlights many things, but one thing that often falls to the wayside during the holidays is your health. This month we recognize HIV and AIDS awareness.

Awareness saves lives. Understanding how HIV is transmitted, knowing the importance of testing, and reducing stigma all play a vital role in building healthier, more connected communities. This month, we honor those we’ve lost, celebrate the progress that’s been made, and recommit ourselves to compassion, education, and access to care.

Last week the members of the Community Living Option and Living Ways Foundation boards came together to celebrate and reflect on a job well done in 2025!

A warm farewell to our outgoing board members! President Joe Walls served the board for many years and transformed the organization through his leadership and perseverance. We also recognized Kathy Lentz from Integrated Services of Kalamazoo for her years of dedication.

Their years of service are most appreciated. Your dedication, leadership, and heart for our mission have helped shape who we are today—and your impact will be felt for years to come. As we welcome new faces and look ahead to the year before us, we’re grateful for the shared passion and commitment that continues to move our work forward.
