Colleen Cachero, LMSW, is now accepting new clients!

"I offer client sessions with a nonjudgmental, empathetic, and listening ear. Through my work, I invite clients to explore outside their comfort zone to realize the abundance of possibilities that may exist for them. Because all relationships go through ups and down, I offer support to examine how clients can focus on personal development, while also introducing techniques that will improve their relationships with others.
With over 10 years of clinical experience working with families, adults, and children, I have a special interest in working with people with addictions, stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My goal is to inspire and motivate clients in a way that will help them better understand themselves to achieve a more fulfilling life and stronger relationships with others."

My helping career began long before I was aware it was in the making. I grew up pursuing an insistence that people could be brought together rather than driven apart and that there are shared values among all. Out of undergrad, I was drawn to customer service jobs where I could engage with others and build connections. I eventually worked in banking but struggled everyday to deny people help based on policy rather than offer support in times of need.

I first lived in Michigan 10 years ago while volunteering to create and facilitate a women’s group to support advancement in education and career skills. This opportunity allowed me to see that with the right support, change and growth were very possible. I saw first hand the importance of relationships and the power of hope.

In the time since then, I moved back to the east coast to pursue my social work education and to start my family. Along the way, I have worked in public schools, alternative schools, in community clinics, and worked with families at home all of which have informed my approach to supporting the whole system and the whole person.

Now back in Michigan since 2023, I continue to bring my well-rounded experience to my work with young people, families, and adults. I approach my work with deep empathy, authenticity, and warmth. I pride myself on my “cheer-leader” reputation - prepared to celebrate any and all successes on the path toward change.

When not at work I enjoy time with my family in the outdoors skiing, biking, camping, and most any activity related to water. At almost any time and in any place you will also find me looking down at the ground for cool rocks.
