Food Intolerance Testing

Different than food allergies or food sensitivities - food intolerances are life long, non-changing inability to properly breakdown certain foods. This leads to a buildup of toxemia; by-products in the body that are difficult to excrete leading to inflammation and dis-ease states.

In short, this is a traditional naturopathic evaluation - not lab - to determine an individual’s food compatibility.

Toxemia is a by-product of poor or incomplete digestion. It’s like having dirty oil in your car. Without draining the old, dirty oil it does not matter the quality of the good oil; damage will result to the engine. Toxemia leads to inflammation and damage to your body.

Inflammation is the response to an irritant - toxemia, trauma, infection, etc. Short term inflammation is uncomfortable but a normal part of healing. Long term inflammation is a primary contributor to chronic illness.

Intolerance identification and elimination diet (of your specific intolerance(s)) eliminates the cause of dietary toxemia. Removal of the toxemia reduces inflammation and no longer blocks the body’s inherent ability to heal.

Yes, there are many naturopathic approaches to health. You can take any number of supplements to improve digestion and/or detoxification. However, no supplement can replicate the properly functioning digestion or detox the body as effectively and consistently as well as eliminating intolerant foods.

Botanical Tincture

Tinctures are a formulated mix of plant medicines with chemical constituents to support certain organ systems/symptoms/disease states.

Doses vary pending on which botanicals are used, severity of disease and vitality of the person.

Here, you see me taking 60 drops of my botanical tincture formulated for liver, gi and hormone support (can you say HELLO 40s!?)

Each botanical tincture I mix up is INDIVIDUALIZED. No two people get the same tincture (caveat: with certain respiratory illnesses I use the same mix).

Within 10 minutes I felt my digestion activate, as designed.

This IS medicine. (Many) Botanicals are very well studied and studies prove the safety and effectiveness.

Mold toxins

There are few rabbit-health holes I hate more than mold. It is insidious, pervasive and can permeate every system.

When I am working with a new client, I make a working list of potential obstacles. I had been working with this client (and his wife) and suspected mold from the start. They did their investigating around the house, noted small amount of mold around their windows and had them replaced. They had a walk through inspection with a “maybe” outcome - no home air testing.

I prefer urine mycotoxin testing to any home test for a number of reasons. Mainly, your home could be fine but your office (or car!) might not be. The urine sample doesn’t care where the mold is coming from, it tells us that you are burdened and it is likely causing your symptoms.

This particular client has long suffered low white blood count, anemia, chronic fatigue, bladder issues, endless GI symptoms and sarcoidosis. He was recently cleared of the last diagnosis (thanks in part to formulas). He was noticing improvements with our protocol but not budging as I expected he should be - always an indicator of other obstacles.

I strongly urged him to do this mycotoxin panel and it came back with not one but two elevated mycotoxins. I have no doubt that we can make more and better strides with his health having this information.

Testing matters. When health is not restoring, doubling down is necessary.

Mold is my least favorite obstacle to tackle. But it can be done.
