Speak Life Therapy is already thinking about summer, and availability is opening up for Mondays and Wednesdays starting in June!

Current clients- please verify your plans for the summer
Prospective clients- please submit an inquiry at www.speaklifetherapy.net and call/email Sarah McCollum with your interest.

Speak Life Therapy currently takes private pay clients and those with the following insurances: BCBS/Anthem, United Healthcare/UMR, Priority Health/Cigna, Medicaid (and managed care plans-UHC, PH), and now Aetna (as of January 2026).

Speak Life Therapy is also a Medicare/Medicare Advantage provider, so those needing those insurances are also welcome to submit inquiries at this time.

My name is Sarah McCollum, and I am the owner and SLP for this private practice. Speak Life Therapy works with a number of insurances, such as Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare/UMR, Priority Health, and also Medicare plans. I am also in the process of becoming credentialed for Aetna Healthcare.

If your insurance plan is not listed, Speak Life Therapy can also create superbills for you to send to your insurance companies to possibly get reimbursement, though this is not guaranteed. Please talk with your insurance companies to learn more about if they use this method for out of network providers.

Hello all! Spring is here!

I wanted to share an update that I will be attending the Michigan Speech-Language & Hearing Conference in Kalamazoo later this week! I am so excited for this great opportunity so I can improve my skills and then offer the best speech therapy services possible!

This conference will provide me with additional training in dynamic assessment, English Learner literacy essentials, Parkinson's Disease topics, neuroplasticity for cognitive rehabilitation, stuttering, nasal emission/cleft palate, aphasia, anosognosia, and executive functioning for kids!

I will be sure to make a series of posts relating to what I have learned from this wonderful conference!

First, I (Sarah McCollum) wanted to thank all of you for following Speak Life Therapy's page this past year! It has been wonderful to start connecting with all of you who are new followers! I am excited for whatever 2025 brings-- to support you all in your family's goals to support your loved ones needing speech & language support.

For 2025, I am hoping to target speech therapy goals with a variety of themes and approaches that will meet the individual needs of your loved ones. I am also contemplating starting a podcast to discuss and ask questions of seasoned experts on different topics! If you were to listen to a podcast, what would you want to learn about?
