In solidarity with the general strike happening across the country, many businesses are closing their doors today.

As a small business that exists to support mental health and community care, we felt called to show up a little differently.

Today, we’re donating 100% of what we earned (over $1,300) to the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center — . Check out the receipts for full transparency 🙂

It’s important to me to be visible and honest about where I stand and what this studio represents. We stand in solidarity with abolishing ICE, and we’re grateful for the support we’ve received.

You may feel differently — and that’s okay. We don’t have to agree. But this is what I believe.

When I first stepped into this very studio back in 2011...

I had no idea how much my life was about to change. I didn’t come from a yoga background. I was fresh out of college, curious and a little lost, when my first mentor, Katie, offered me the opportunity to help build the very first hot yoga studio in Southwest Michigan.

I still remember my first class with vivid clarity: intense, sweaty, overwhelming… and somehow, deeply satisfying. Even though the experience pushed me in every direction, something inside me felt like I had finally landed somewhere that mattered.

Fifteen years later, I’m still here. Still learning, still growing, and still falling in love with this practice. In that time, I’ve earned advanced accreditation through Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 and YACEP, taught thousands of classes, led Yoga Teacher Trainings, and facilitated retreats across the country and around the world.

Along the way, this studio transformed into a community-rooted home now known as Intentional Yoga, a place where we practice the art of moving with breath and living with purpose.

My hope is that it becomes your safe place too - a place to move, breathe, heal, and grow alongside a supportive and empowering community ❤

If you’ve ever walked into the studio and felt welcomed, grounded, or uplifted… that’s because of our incredible teachers, front desk staff, and energy exchange team.

They’re the ones who greet you with a smile, guide you through class, answer your questions, and keep the studio feeling clean, calm, and cared for. They show up with passion, presence, and genuine love for this community. They are also BIG huggers with a lot of love to give (if you couldn’t tell).
