Kalamazoo Wellness and Recovery Festival

Kalamazoo Wellness and Recovery Festival Join us for the biggest recovery party of the year! Connect to resources while enjoying fun for the whole family. GOALS
1.

In celebration of National Recovery Month, the Recovery Institute, ASK Family Services, and other community orgs are hosting the 9th Annual Wellness and Recovery Festival. This event is for the entire community and has been created by peers. Our goal is to raise awareness and diminish stigma around mental health and SUD recovery. This is also an opportunity to highlight the mental health and addiction recovery resources available to the community. Join us in celebrating that recovery is happening in Kalamazoo! The festival will have a multitude of sponsors, booths, local vendors, and artists in recovery showcasing their work. There will be local food trucks, non-alcoholic beverage vendors, arts and crafts, live music and so much more! This event is open to the public and free of charge to those attending. Decrease stigma surrounding mental health and SUD recovery
2. Educate the public about community services
3. Showcase Recovery Oriented Systems of Care
4. Have fun and be entertained

AUDIENCE
● This event is open to the public and free of charge. It is family friendly, and alcohol and drug free.
● The organizers are people in recovery from addiction and diagnosed mental conditions.
● The community vendors and booths are from organizations that support recovery of all kinds.
● The festival will showcase local makers who are in recovery and give them the opportunity to sell their products.
● This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are “sober curious” to have fun and celebrate recovery! Recovery Institute, a local peer run 501c3 nonprofit organization, is acting as fiduciary for this event. Our mission statement reads: “We are a community of peers embracing recovery." We have been contracting with Integrated Services of Kalamazoo to provide peer-to-peer recovery services to individuals in Kalamazoo since 2006. Please contact us @ recoveryinstitute@recoverymi.org

A very special source of support for the festival is the Heather and Edward Allen Roth 4th Foundation for Arts in Medicine (HEAR 4 FAM) Fund.
"Our aim is to create opportunities for people to heal, grow, and more completely contribute to their communities, especially through the same channels of joy and meaning that shaped Eddie’s life: music, movement, friendship, nature, and shared experience. In everything we do, we strive to help others live more fully, love more deeply, and connect more honestly."
