It’s always important to prioritize your heart health, and American Heart Month is the perfect time to refocus on the habits that keep your heart strong.

If you haven’t seen your primary care provider recently, be sure to schedule an appointment to stay up to date on important screenings and to monitor key indicators like blood pressure and heart rate.

“Philanthropy and community support have been the driving force for growing the ALERT program since the beginning,” said Michael Barth, CFRE, President of the Logan Health Foundation. “That support is what allows us not only to sustain this elite critical care transport service, but to continue building it for the future. The ALERT Banquet is a key step in that effort, helping ensure we have the aircraft, equipment and teams needed to reach patients across our region when every minute matters.”

The 48th Annual ALERT Banquet will take place Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Trade Center at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. The event is the premier fundraiser supporting the ALERT medical flight program, which has delivered lifesaving care across the Flathead Valley for more than 50 years.

Every year, Bill Sanguine marks the anniversary of his heart surgery in a meaningful way by making his “Thankful to Be Alive” donation to the Logan Health Foundation.

Fourteen years later, this tradition celebrates his health and recognizes the care team who supported both him and his late wife, Phyllis, throughout their health care journeys. It is a powerful reminder that gratitude truly helps close the circle of healing.

"The pillars of healthy diet and regular exercise can make a huge difference in anyone's cardiac health." - Taylor Lies, PA-C, Logan Health Specialty Care - Polson

As we continue to spread awareness this American Heart Month, we are proud to spotlight many of our heart and vascular specialists here at Logan Health. Remember, prioritizing checkups and healthy habits are everyday choices that compound to reduce your risk of developing heart disease.

Logan Health Heart & Vascular offers Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA), a safer way to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib).

Traditional ablation techniques use extreme heat or cold to correct abnormal heart rhythms. PFA takes a different approach, using targeted electrical pulses to treat the specific heart tissue causing the problem, while better protecting surrounding structures.

At Logan Health, all AFib ablation procedures are now performed using pulsed field ablation because it carries a lower risk of damage to nearby areas like the esophagus and nerves. This means fewer complications, faster recovery, and better outcomes for patients. So you can get back to doing the things you love.

Our Story

Kalispell Regional Healthcare (KRH) is a nonprofit, 354-bed health system located in the iconic Flathead Valley of northwest Montana. While the main medical campus is located in Flathead County, KRH draws from a total service area covering 13 counties, nearly 40,000 square miles and a population of more than 600,000. The health system consists of three hospitals, nearly 40 provider clinics and a host of other health care services, including the nation’s first rural air ambulance service (A.L.E.R.T.), which it has maintained for more than 40 years. Founded in 1910, KRH has provided exceptional care for more than 100 years to the communities it serves. Throughout its history, the organization has continued to grow and evolve with the growth and changing needs of the communities it serves.

More than 4,000 physicians, nurses, health care professionals and support staff work together to provide patients and their families with a positive, proactive, patient-centered experience. KRH is especially well known for its programs in cardiovascular care, oncology, neuroscience and spine care, orthopedics, women’s health, pediatrics and behavioral health.
