What not to say when someone is grieving:
🟠 At least they’re in a better place
🟠 Everything happens for a reason
🟠 They lived a long life
🟠 Be strong
🟠 Time heals all wounds
🟠 I know exactly how you feel
🟠 You’ll get over this
🟠 God needed another angel
Even when meant with love, these can feel dismissive or minimizing.
What matters more than the right words is simply being there — listening, sitting in the silence, and letting them grieve without trying to fix it.
