✨ MEET OUR PEOPLE – This is John! ✨

We are so thankful for our community and the amazing staff we have at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. If you’ve been here before, you might recognize John!

John has worked at KMHC for nine years. He helps to keep our patients and staff safe as a Security Officer. 👮 His favorite part of the job is talking with people in our community.

In his free time, John loves woodworking. He likes making tables, chairs, and even bed frames. Did you know he was also the Junior Varsity Football Coach at Kalkaska High School for more than 25 years? How cool is that?

We truly appreciate everything John does for KMHC!

⚠️Just a reminder to our community during this winter storm - if you are using a generator for power right now, please make sure it is properly ventilated!

⚠️ Carbon Monoxide is scentless, colorless, and deadly. Be safe and never use a generator in any enclosed space.

🚨 Important Winter Safety Alert 🚨

We’ve seen more cases of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning in our community this winter, and we want to help keep everyone safe.

Carbon monoxide is INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS because you can’t see it, smell it, or taste it — but it can be deadly.

CO comes from things that burn fuel, like furnaces, generators, space heaters, cars, grills, and fireplaces. It can build up inside homes, garages, cabins, and ice shanties.

Watch for these symptoms:
😵 Headache
🤢 Nausea or vomiting
😴 Feeling tired or dizzy
😕 Confusion
🚨 If someone is sleeping or has been drinking, they may be less likely to notice the symptoms.

Protect your family:
✔️ Put CO detectors on every level of your home and near bedrooms; test monthly
✔️ Get your furnace and fuel burning appliances checked yearly
✔️ Never use grills or generators inside — not even in a garage or porch

If your CO alarm goes off or you feel sick:
➡️ Get outside to fresh air right away
➡️ Call 911, and stay outside until First Responders arrive

Keep your Kidneys healthy at the Teen Health Corner!🩵

Your kidneys help clean your blood and keep your body healthy. It’s important to take good care of them.

Did you know that a urinary tract infection (UTI) can sometimes hurt your kidneys if it is not treated? UTIs are very common, and they can happen to anyone.

At the Teen Health Corner, we want to help you stay healthy.

➡️We offer UTI checks and treatment for teens in our community.

You may have a UTI if you notice pain when you p*e, you feel like you need to p*e frequently, your lower belly is sore, or if your p*e is cloudy or smells strong.

If you feel any of these things, we are here to help you today – WALK-INS ARE WELCOME.

📍 UTI Screening is available at two locations: Teen Health Corner (KMHC) and Teen Health Corner (Fife Lake)
📞 Make an appointment today, 231-258-7791

💛 Thank You, Forest Area Warriors! 💚

We are so grateful to the students, staff, and families at Forest Area Schools for helping support cancer patients at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.

They sold concessions and t‑shirts at local basketball games and raised OVER $1,300 to help people in our community who are fighting cancer. This donation means SO MUCH to us!

Thank you for showing what teamwork and kindness can do. 🙌

Please help us thank these amazing students with a like or share!
