We were truly blessed on Friday by the beautiful carolers from Britt Free Church. Their music brought joy, comfort, and the spirit of the season to our residents and staff. We are grateful for their time, kindness, and willingness to share such a meaningful gift with our home.

Thank you to all of our community and families that came to our community meeting last night to support us!

Last night’s community meeting was an important step in shaping the future of Kanawha Community Home, and we are grateful to everyone who joined the conversation. Together, we outlined several major goals that will help us continue providing safe, compassionate care for our residents and ensure the long-term sustainability of our home.
Our fundraising goal is approximately $200,000, which will support several critical needs, including:
• Repairing and updating our shower room, which has sustained water damage.
• Installing WanderGuard self-locking exterior doors to better protect residents with exit-seeking behaviors and help them remain safely here at home.
• Transitioning to a non-profit organization, giving us increased access to grants and funding opportunities that will help keep our building thriving for years to come.
• Providing a financial cushion during periods of low census, ensuring we can continue to operate smoothly and maintain high-quality care for our residents.
• Strengthening the long-term sustainability of our facility as the healthcare landscape continues to evolve.
We value the support, ideas, and dedication of our community as we work toward a stronger, safer, and more stable future for Kanawha Community Home. Together, we can ensure this home remains a vital part of Kanawha for generations. Thank you for standing with us. 💙🏡

Our gentleman residents rolled up their sleeves today and helped put together our Christmas train! 🚂✨
Their hard work and cheerful teamwork brought a little extra holiday magic to the Kanawha Community Home.
Thank you to these wonderful men for helping make our home look and feel more like Christmas. The smiles say it all! ❤️🎄

Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving!

On Tuesday, our residents and staff enjoyed a festive celebration featuring a “Turkey Shootout” and Thanksgiving Bingo. There was plenty of laughter and friendly competition as everyone took their shot at a few turkeys and joined in the holiday fun.

A special thank-you to Judy for treating us to her delicious pumpkin bars and pumpkin pie-in-a-cup — they were a big hit and added the perfect touch to our celebration.

We’re grateful for the joy and togetherness this season brings, and we hope you all have a warm and memorable holiday! 🦃🍂
