MEDICARE DEADLINE TO MAKE CHANGES IN CURRENT PLAN
• Medicare enrollees should review their current plan annually.
• Even if you are on the same medications with the same health issues, your coverage and cost may vary from year to year.
• You can change your plans during open enrollment from October 15 to December 7.
What you can do during the Open Enrollment Period (OEP):
• Anyone with a Part D prescription drug plan can switch to a new Part D prescription drug plan.
• Anyone with Original Medicare (Parts A & B) can switch to a Medicare Advantage plan.
• Anyone with Medicare Advantage can drop it and switch back to just Original Medicare (Parts A & B).
• Anyone with Medicare Advantage can switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan.
• Medicare.gov will have comparative plan information in early October. Use the official government site (medicare.gov). Others may steer you to their preferred coverage which may be more costly and/or provide less coverage.
