The American College of Physicians (ACP) is greatly concerned with the most recent development regarding the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) composition and the selections made by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kennedy. The speed with which these members were selected, and the lack of transparency in the process, does not help to restore public confidence and trust, and contributes to confusion and uncertainty. The American College of Physicians (ACP) is highly concerned and outraged about today’s announcement from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) dismissing all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). This move will seriously erode public confidence in our government’s ability to ensure the health of the American public. Read the full statement: https://bit.ly/4dWbak2

Our Story

I am a Hawaii-born board certified internist with 10 year history of practicing in Hawaii. I practice at Castle Primary Care located at Castle Professional Center in Kaneohe and serve as an assistant clinical professor for department of medicine at UH School of Medicine.

After completion of medical training in mainland, I returned to Hawaii with goal to serve the Windward community in which I grew up in. My personal reason, in particular, was that my grandmother and mother allowed their health to deteriorate as a result of inconvenience of having to travel to Honolulu for their health care needs. They would say their symptoms were not severe enough to deserve an evaluation. I’ve been exposed to many people who trivialize the topic of traveling over the Koolau’s (mountains) to Honolulu to seek medical attention, but for elderly and others the travel may definitely be a limiting factor.

In attempt to alleviate this problem and through God’s blessings, I practice on the Windward-side in hopes that no other Windward lives would be hurt due to postponing their medical evaluation due to travel distance issue.

I believe that health is not merely the absence and prevention of disease, but complete wholeness of mind, body, and spirit. I look forward to listening, serving, and supporting you towards promoting excellent health.
