POSITION AVAILABLE: PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Are you an organized, personable professional looking for a position where you can make an impact addressing a major social crisis? If so, you may be the right person for Resolution Systems Institute’s (RSI) Virtual Eviction Mediation Program Coordinator position.
RSI is developing an online eviction mediation program to serve tenants and landlords in Illinois’ Winnebago and Kankakee counties. This predominantly remote position requires someone who can help direct tenants and landlords to vital services, keep good records so we can share meaningful data, and generally step up as a team member on a day-to-day basis to provide the highest quality services to those involved in the eviction process.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct intake with program participants and direct them to appropriate services
• Format, enter and maintain accurate data and information in case management software
• Correspond with program partners, including financial counselors, pro bono attorneys, and mediators
• Utilize calendar system to schedule legal assistance, financial counseling and mediation appointments
• Report to Associate Director on day-to-day functioning of mediation program
• Virtually attend daily court calls, managing participant flow
• Help parties navigate technical issues to ensure they can fully participate
• Communicate with court personnel, such as eviction judges, bailiffs and court clerks, to ensure smooth interaction between program and court
• Support outreach efforts to improve awareness and use of mediation program
The Program Coordinator is a full-time position with an annual salary of $40,000, coupled with a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, PTO and 401(k). The position will be primarily remote, though preference may be given to local candidates. This position is grant-funded, from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022; the continuation of this role beyond that date is unknown at this time.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher required; 2+ years of experience in legal field or direct services preferred
• Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while maintaining strong communication and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask amid evolving priorities; flexibility in supporting an evolving program
• Proficiency with the following software
• Required: Zoom or other videoconferencing software; standard office tools such as Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps
• Preferred: any case management or recordkeeping software; Sack, DocuSign
• Bilingual Spanish-English preferred
• Ability to pass a background check required
• Preference will be given to local candidates who can occasionally travel to Rockford and Kankakee courthouses
