On this lovely spring day, National Outdoor Sports Day provided the perfect opportunity for us to enjoy co****le and music, and the residents are now discussing the possibility of establishing their own team, so we'll let them take the lead.

Day 5 - Spring Spirit Week

On the fifth day of Spring Spirit Week, we observed Pajama and Snuggle Buddy Day, a celebration that brought a sense of relaxation and tranquility to our community. As it was the final day of festivities, we noticed a decrease in photo opportunities, likely due to the laid-back atmosphere that encouraged everyone to unwind. It seemed that the comfort of pajamas might have contributed to this relaxed demeanor.

Many participants chose not to bring their snuggle buddies, opting instead to leave them at home, possibly due to concerns about succumbing to sleep. Interestingly, the activity director did bring her snuggle buddy, showcasing her enthusiasm.

This activity allowed us to tap into our inner child and share the experience with our residents, who in turn shared their cherished memories.

Day 4 - Thursday - March 19, 2026

As part of our Spirit Week Celebration, we held a 'Hats Off to Spring' challenge where participants designed hats reflecting who they are. We invite you to review the first seven pictures, showing off hat designs and assist us in selecting the first, second, and third place winners.

Spring Spirit Day 3 at Big Elm Retirement Center was a blast from the past with rock and roll, retro goodies, and ink-stained smiles courtesy of wash-off tattoos!

The staff at Big Elm Retirement Center ensured a delightful St. Patrick's Day celebration, marked by festive mustaches and a variety of treats including green shamrock cookies, pickles, olives, cheese, and crackers accompanied by rainbow sherbet floats. The center's joyful atmosphere was truly commendable. We appreciate the staff's participation in the festivities.
