🧡 3 safe ways to thaw a turkey:
1. Refrigerator Thawing: To thaw a turkey safely, place it in the refrigerator for a slow and controlled thaw. Plan on about 24 hours of thawing time for every four to five pounds of turkey. Once thawed, the turkey can remain in the refrigerator for one to two days before cooking.

2. Cold water thawing: The cold-water thawing method is quicker but requires more supervision. For this method, allow 30 minutes of thawing time per pound, ensuring the turkey is submerged in its original packaging to prevent cross-contamination. Change the water every 30 minutes until the turkey is fully thawed. Once thawed, the turkey should be cooked immediately.

3. Microwave Thawing: A whole turkey is typically too large to fit in a microwave. However, for thawing a small turkey or turkey breast, use the microwave’s defrost setting and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Be sure to cook it immediately after thawing, as some parts may start to warm up and cook during the process, potentially reaching the "Danger Zone" where bacteria can multiply.

Measles isn’t just a rash — it’s a highly contagious disease.

It spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. You can get measles just by being in a room where a person with measles has been. This can happen even up to 2 hours after that person has left.
