As a therapist, I love hearing others' stories and understanding what makes an individual who they are. I am a seasoned listener and skillful observer and utilize these skills to help my clients gain meaningful knowledge about themselves and their experience. Through a collaborative effort between myself and my clients, we work to establish goals and gain skills that will help you grow and reach a
point where you can meet those goals. I enjoy using a strengths-based approach as a starting point. This involves utilizing skills and assets that are already at the client's disposal to meet their specific needs. Many of my sessions are based in mindfulness and other holistic wellness techniques. I believe in whole-person health, which to me includes physical and spiritual health and healing in addition to emotional and mental health. I draw from a multitude of traditional techniques as well including CBT and Shame Resilience Theory. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Kansas and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kansas State University and my Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. I have experience working with both adults and adolescents, couples, and families. My interests include helping individuals cope with anxiety and depression, life transitions and adjustments, interpersonal relationship issues, trauma, and self-esteem concerns. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults. I work within a group private practice called Clinical Associates located in Lenexa, KS. I work alongside many other qualified practitioners who specialize in assessments and evaluations to determine potential diagnoses as well as medication prescribers who can work with clients to ascertain what, if any, medications are necessary. Clients are able to conveniently get a variety of services they may need at one location.
