Specialized pediatric care that’s both cutting-edge and patient-centered: that’s the standard of care that our Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program Director, Dr. Julie Bass, embodies every day.

As a dedicated physician and researcher, Dr. Bass’s work doesn’t stop at the bedside. She’s also advancing pediatric medicine through research that’s shaping the future of care for kids with inflammatory bowel disease.

Whether she’s leading clinical innovation or connecting with families, Dr. Bass brings expertise with heart. 💙

Our annual camp week at is definitely the greatest show on earth for our patients! 🎪✨ From sliming staff and players to doing crafts and hanging out with clowns, there was no shortage of fun to be had. I’m so grateful to our volunteers and Patient and Family Services team who provide these unique and unforgettable experiences to kids in the hospital. Healing goes beyond medicine, and days like these bring so much joy and hope to our patients and families.

Seeing the healing transformation of our patients never gets old. 2 years ago, Harvey graduated from our NICU. Now, Harvey is thriving as a playful and curious toddler. I’m so thankful to our clinical teams enough for the care they provide to patients like Harvey every day, and to Harvey’s mom for sharing a glimpse into his incredible growth with us. This is what care is all about. 💙

I love to see our patients out of their hospital rooms, learning and having fun! Last week, my amazing colleagues from the hospital-based school program and our researchers hosted a science-themed event where patients conducted experiments, like sink or float tests and dry ice volcanoes. Moments like these where patients can focus on just being kids truly makes a difference in their healing journeys, and I’m so grateful to our teams who make these experiences possible.
