Access to care is personal. With premium costs rising, many Kansas City families and small business owners are having to make tough decisions about coverage and care. KCMSF supports policies that help people stay insured and get the care they need, when they need it.
Change doesn't happen because one person speaks up once. It happens when people build relationships and keep showing up together.
The Power of Voice is a hands-on community training designed to help residents build confidence, sharpen advocacy skills, and learn how to communicate effectively about the health issues that matter most.
Two opportunities to attend:
Thurs, January 29 | 11am–1pm (lunch provided)
Sat, January 31 | 9–11am (breakfast provided)
South Branch Library, 3104 Strong Avenue, Kansas City, KS
Training available in English and Spanish.

Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his unwavering call to build a more just and beloved community.
At the Kansas City Medical Society Foundation, we believe health care access is part of that work. We support people who lack insurance and partner with physicians and advocates across Kansas and Missouri to advance policies that expand access to care and strengthen our communities.
May we keep showing up, listening, and working together toward dignity, opportunity, and health for all.

The Kansas City Medical Society works to advance the practice of medicine to improve the health of all in greater Kansas City through leadership, advocacy and innovation. We represent over 3,000 physicians in five counties in both Missouri and Kansas.
We serve physicians and the community by:
· Providing educational programs on issues and trends in medicine
· Informing physicians through our quarterly journal Kansas City Medicine
· Promoting public health initiatives for the region
· Advocating for physicians with legislators and insurance companies
· Offering venues for networking among physicians
In addition, we coordinate via the Kansas City Society Medical Society Foundation over $8 million in donated health care for the uninsured each year
Founded in 1881, the Medical Society has taken a leadership role in many community health issues including the fight against contaminated food and dairy products in the early 1900s. The Medical Society was instrumental in the founding of the Community Blood Bank in the 1950s. We remain interested in public health issues, with some of the most recent examples including To***co 21 legislation and Medicaid expansion.
