The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has informed all states that due to the federal government shut down, November SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits are at risk and there may be delays in benefits. The Kansas Department of Children and Families (DCF) has put together a list of resources for affected Kansas families. This is a great resource for kinship families! Kansas Post Adoption Resource Center's November 15th-16th retreat, Balancing the Senses: Supporting Dysregulation through Sensory Care', is now live for signups! The retreat will take place in Wichita, KS and offer practical strategies caregivers can utilize to help calm their children's bodies and emotions while meeting sensory needs at home. Last call to reserve your spot for our September 30th W.I.S.E. Up! event!

KCSN and KPARC are pairing up with The Center for Adoption Support and Education (CASE) to host a free, in-person training in Lenexa, KS for children ages 6-12 and parents. W.I.S.E. Up! is an empowerment program designed to create a safe space for children to express their feelings about being adopted while also preparing them for intrusive questions and insensitive remarks from peers and others. The program teaches children that they can decide if, when, and how to share their story.

Time: Dinner from 6-6:30 pm, workshop from 6:30-8 pm
