Meet Kara — one of the incredible founding members of OTF Woodlake! 🍊

After stepping away to welcome her daughter in November, Kara couldn’t wait to get back under the orange lights. When she heard Woodlake was opening, she jumped at the chance to return to the workouts, the coaches, and the community she missed so much.

For Kara, it’s the friendships, support, and shared goals that make OTF feel like home. She’s a big fan of Tread 50 and already has her sights set on Strength 50 next! 👟🧡

Kicking off September with our member spotlight, Brenna!! 🍁

🍂What inspired you to start at OTF?
I’ve always been a pretty active person, but besides running, I wasn’t really pushing myself to do anything else. A friend invited my wife and I to our first class, which was a tornado. With it being a tornado, I thought it was madness — but I got in a really good workout — and not the kind I would do on my own. I joined that same day because I knew that I needed the consistency and the coaches to push me to do more.

🍂What do you love about OTF?
I love that there is no “easy” workout at OTF. Giving just one hour a day to these workouts has made a huge difference in my overall health and fitness. Even if I’m having a “green” day, it’s still a great workout.

🍂What’s your favorite workout day/type?
I prefer endurance days with longer tread blocks.

🍁What is your biggest accomplishment since starting OTF?
My running pace has significantly benefitted from OTF. Since joining, I have PR’d race times and my fastest mile time went from 7:59 when I started to 6:51 this year. I never thought I could accomplish that!

🍁Favorite quote or motto?
“The best way to experience nature is on foot” - John Muir

🍁Fun Fact!
I love visiting national park units and collecting NPS passport stamps. It is my goal to eventually visit all 433 of them. I’ve visited 130, so I’ve definitely some traveling to do!
