I won’t pretend it doesn’t hurt—
the ache still blooms in the same place
it did on the day I lost you,
sharp, deep, unforgettable. 💔

Time hasn’t softened the wound,
hasn’t erased the echo of goodbye,
hasn’t dimmed the shadow
your absence leaves behind. 🌑

Yet this little red bird comes,
resting quietly in the dusk,
as if to tell me you’re near,
as if love still lingers. ❤️🕊️

I sit with the sorrow gently,
letting tears fall without shame,
letting memory touch me softly
like the brush of a feather. 🍂

Some hurts become part of us—
woven into breath and heartbeat—
but love becomes part of us too,

Once again I close my eyes and find you in the doorway,
Smiling like you used to when the day was finally done.
For a heartbeat I forget the way the world has changed,
And I feel you near enough to almost hold.

We talk of little nothings as if time has never shattered,
Your laughter folds around me like a soft and gentle coat.
But then the dream begins to flicker round the edges,
And I feel the cold seep slowly into hope. 🌫️

I wake up to a silence that is louder than the night,
The pillow bears the imprint of the tears I couldn’t hold.
Reality returns, a heavy, uninvited stranger,
Whispering that you’re gone and won’t come home.

So I keep that fragile moment like a secret in my pockets,
A tiny, borrowed visit from the world where you still live.
Even though I wake to this long nightmare called “without you,”
I’ll keep dreaming, just to see your face again.
