After my child's Death, A Mother Buried Alive

The devil couldn’t chain my breath,
so he cursed me with my baby’s death.
He dragged me front row, forced me to see,
the grave that swallowed the best of me.

I never knew a heart could break
so loud, so fierce, till mine did quake.
It split in pieces, sharp and wide,
the day my son laid down and died.

They whisper, “Strong.” But what they mean,
is they can’t face the things I’ve seen.
Strength is not some crown I wear,
it’s waking each day to this nightmare.

I scream in showers no one can hear,
I choke on prayers soaked in fear.
My pillow drinks my endless cries,
each tear a scream, each sob a why.

There is no normal, no way back,
just endless nights, the world turned black.
Before was laughter, light, and song,
after is silence, cruel and long.

My children tremble in their sleep,
their brother’s name is all they keep.
He was their shield, their soul, their flame,
now only grief when they speak his name.

I walk these streets but I don’t live,
I’ve nothing left the world can give.
I’m breathing still, but dead inside,
a mother buried, yet alive.

So hear my cry, let Heaven shake,
let every heart on earth awake.
This pain’s too deep, it will not mend—
a mother’s love will never end.

My granddaughter 💔😥

It's so hard thinking about making new memories without our child. This is not how it's supposed to be! So many lost dreams and so much of the future has been wiped out. There is absolutely nothing that is ever easy after losing a child.
