It’s official! Governor Laura Kelly has proclaimed September 4, 2025, as Kansas Blood Donation Day, and Governor Mike Kehoe has proclaimed September 4 as Blood Donation Day in Missouri.

This proclamation builds on National Blood Donation Day and shines a spotlight on the critical need for blood donors year-round and honors the lifesaving work of donors, volunteers, and blood center staff across our state.

Community Blood Center was proud to host “Experience in Blood Banking” on August 19 and 26, our first in-person sessions since COVID. These continuing education courses bring together blood bankers, medical students, and others in the transfusion community to learn, connect, and grow.

As Lynsi Rahorst, Manager of IRL/Genomics Education & Training, shared:
“Experience in Blood Banking reflects our commitment to educating the next generation of leaders in transfusion medicine. We’re proud to bring back in-person education, support the local transfusion community, and demonstrate our continued leadership in the field.”

Our team led lectures on topics ranging from blood group systems and components to complex antibody cases, helping prepare the next generation of leaders in transfusion medicine. Thank you to all who joined us!
