Meet Aixa, who just made the switch from whole blood to platelets! 🎉 Pictured here with team members Jessica and Sarah, Aixa is helping patients in a brand-new way with her donations.

Platelets have only a 5 day shelf life and are deeply in need for cancer patients, burn victims, and those with clotting disorders. Learn more about platelet donations and make a difference at savealifenow.org/platelets.

The new school year is in full swing and we couldn't be more grateful for the hundreds of students who have already come out to donate!

Did you know that high school and college donors account for roughly 20% of all donations nationwide? We think that's a green flag! 💚 🦸 🩸

"I try to donate pretty regularly. I'm O-negative and know there's a huge need." - Donor Andrea 🩸

O-negative is often called the universal blood type because it can be given to anyone in an emergency when there’s no time to check blood type.

As a special thank you to our O-negative donors, we're giving a branded notebook through October. Make sure to register at savealifenow.org/lifesaver! ❤️

For April, donating platelets is more than just a good deed, it’s deeply personal.

“When my daughter Ryan (who’s now 17) was just 5, she had a very bad illness,” April shared. “Her platelet count dropped, and she needed platelets to live. They helped save her life. I’m so thankful.”

That experience lit a spark in April that has never gone out. Since then, she’s been inspired to give back. She’s donated platelets an incredible 19 times and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon!

Your financial contributions make stories like Julia’s possible. Born with Beta Thalassemia Major, a blood disorder that affects the blood’s ability to carry oxygen, she survived thanks to hundreds of blood donations from her community. After a bone marrow transplant cured her, Julia now gives back as a blood donor herself. Because of blood and financial donors, Julia survived and now gives back. You can help create more stories like hers: http://bit.ly/3KQOQxH

We love to see local leaders setting the bar high! 💪 These Missouri lawmakers recently rolled up their sleeves at our Main St. Donor Center to give blood and help patients during this critical time. Right now, our region’s O-negative and platelet supplies are at a dangerously low level—just like these ladies, your donation can make a lifesaving difference.
