Women’s Equality Day commemorates the 19th Amendment’s certification in 1920, granting many women in the U.S. the right to vote for the first time.

It was a milestone that opened doors, and today we honor the women who continue to lead, serve and advocate for kids and families across Jackson County.

From CSF staff to our partner organizations and beyond, women across our network are building healthier communities through care, leadership and action.

To the women shaping futures, standing for equity and strengthening systems of support: we see you, and we are so grateful for everything you do.

As the new school year begins, we’re pausing to say thank you.

To the teachers, school counselors, social workers, nurses, paraeducators, administrators and every adult walking alongside kids this year—we see you, and we are so grateful for what you do.

You offer safety when things feel uncertain. Encouragement when confidence is low. A listening ear when it feels like no one else is listening. You help kids feel seen, supported and cared for every single day.

Your work matters more than words can say, and you’re impacting lives in so many ways you’ll never even see.

💙 From all of us at the Children's Services Fund: thank you.

Starting a new school year can be full of hope as well as challenges. For many students, school counselors are the steady presence they need to navigate both.

Beyond guiding academic goals, counselors help students process feelings, build social-emotional skills and connect with support when life feels overwhelming.

Thanks to our partners like Genesis School, Raytown School District, Center School District and De La Salle Education Center, more students in Jackson County have access to this critical support.

It’s about more than grades. It’s about helping every child grow whole.

For many students, trauma walks through the school doors with them every single day. That trauma doesn’t stay in the past—it shows up in classroom behaviors, peer interactions, emotional regulation and academic performance.

Synergy Services is working to change that. With support from the Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County, their trauma-informed school-based programs are helping students feel safer, more supported and better equipped to thrive.

By embedding therapy and resiliency-building directly into schools, they're reducing barriers to mental health care and building trust that leads to long-term impact for students, families and educators alike.

This August, the Children’s Services Fund is proud to highlight how schools in Jackson County are meeting students' needs beyond the classroom.

Today, we’re highlighting the Independence School District, whose district-wide Family Services Department delivers in-school and home-based support to over 14,000 students across 31 buildings. Every school has a dedicated Family Service Liaison, a powerful model that’s especially critical for students from economically disadvantaged households, those at risk for suspension and youth experiencing homelessness.

It’s not just about services. It’s about relationships. And ISD is showing what’s possible when families feel seen, students feel safe and staff are empowered to help kids thrive.

Parenting doesn’t come with a playbook—but every day, families across Jackson County show up with strength, love and resilience.

On Parents Day, we’re thankful for the caregivers doing their best to meet their children’s emotional and physical needs—and proud to support partners who meet families where they are.

The Children’s Services Fund remains committed to funding programs that care for the whole family—because supporting kids starts with supporting the people who love them most.

On this day in 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law—a turning point in the fight for equity and inclusion.

National Disability Independence Day reminds us what it means to protect every person’s right to access, opportunity and respect. That includes kids with disabilities here in Jackson County.

The Children’s Services Fund is honored to support organizations that make sure those protections are real, every day, for kids of all kinds of abilities.

Every number in our 2024 Impact Report represents something more—a child in Jackson County gaining access to the care and support they need.

Through our partners, the Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County helped thousands of kids take steps toward stronger emotional well-being and brighter futures.

But our work isn’t measured by numbers alone. It’s about every individual child—every story still unfolding. As we move through 2025, that commitment continues.

Because every child deserves the chance to thrive.

School should be a place where every child feels like they belong.

The Americans with Disabilities Act helps make that possible. By prohibiting discrimination in public services—including public schools—the ADA ensures that kids with disabilities have the right to learn, grow and participate alongside their peers.

For many Jackson County kids, that means access to the education and support they need to thrive.

We’re proud to stand behind partners who help make that a reality in classrooms and beyond.

Making a difference in a child’s life doesn’t always look big or loud. Sometimes it looks like a steady presence, a safe space or someone who listens.

This July, during National Make a Difference to Children Month, we’re celebrating the everyday work of the dedicated organizations in Jackson County that do exactly that.

The Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County is proud to support partners who show up for kids—in schools, in homes, in communities—day after day.

Together, we’re building a future where every child has the chance to feel safe, supported and seen.

Disability doesn’t always look the way people expect.

When the Americans with Disabilities Act became law, it extended protections to people with a wide range of disabilities—visible and invisible alike. That includes individuals with learning differences, mental health conditions, epilepsy, diabetes and more.

For the kids in Jackson County served through our partners, those protections matter. They help ensure every child is supported, understood and valued—regardless of their diagnosis or how it presents.

This month, we continue honoring the ADA and what it makes possible.
