Bk2TheGarden Products, custom blends, and classes. Formal training in Asian medicine is at the core of all we do. I was learning too!

My Story
Early in life I used to sit on the floor and listen to the Watkins man as he educated and sold my Grandma on herbal and homeopathic products. At that time it was everyday care products for a healthy life. Around 7-8 years old I would use my little brothers empty baby food jars to stuff leaves and organic matter into to “see what would happen”. My grandma's spices were not safe from my mixing experiments and sometimes neither was the scented talcum powder. What can I say….I’m still here doing the same thing. It’s way past time to re-claim our response-ability for caring for our daily health. Bk2thegarden is my way of engaging you and passing on some of what I’ve learned in my adventure. Tips from those early days will be periodically shared here where you too, can learn from my grandma. Learning where we came from will merge with where we are going, using the tools we learn today. My beautiful cousin/sister Sandy says that “ Life is a continuous journey leading you back to the beginning” I think she’s right! So welcome to Bk2thegarden; join us for the adventure!

The Cold Moon blessing honors the threshold between endings and beginnings, inviting release of what has completed and courage for what is emerging. It recognizes the moon as a keeper of cycles, guiding us through darkness with light and reminding us that renewal is already stirring beneath winter’s stillness. In essence, it is a prayer for peace in closure and hope in new beginnings.

🌕 Shamanic Journey Invitation:
“What part of me is ready to be laid to rest, and what new light is stirring beneath the frost?”

You might journey to meet the Cold Moon Goddess herself, perhaps she appears as a Crone wrapped in silver furs, or as a winged figure weaving light into the dark. Let her show you what is complete, and what is quietly beginning.

“December’s Cold Moon Blessing: Cold Moon, lantern of the long night, you rise at the edge of endings, where the year exhales its final breath and the new one waits in silence. Bless my steps across this threshold, as roots sink deep and branches reach for light. May what is complete fall gently away, and what is beginning glimmer with promise. Cold Moon, keeper of cycles, bless my endings with peace, my beginnings with courage, and let your brilliance remind me that even in the longest dark, the promise of dawn is already stirring. So may it be.”

A gentle reminder that intuition is not something new or fragile, it is as old and reliable as the natural rhythms of the earth. Just as rivers, tides, roots, or horizons move in harmony with forces greater than themselves, our inner knowing flows with a quiet wisdom that doesn’t need proof or urgency. Trusting intuition means surrendering to that ancient rhythm, allowing it to guide us with grace and steadiness.

🕯️Shamanic Journey Invitation:
“In the old ways, the stone held silence and the tide returned in its time. If you were to journey into that silence, what ancient rhythm of intuition would rise to meet you, and how would it guide your next step?”

“In the old ways, they said the stone knew how to hold silence, and the tide knew how to return. Your intuition is like that, an ancient rhythm, a steady knowing. Trust it as the dawn trusts the horizon, as the roots trust the soil. Without question. Without rush. In rhythm. In grace.”

Historically, sunlight was regarded as a vital part of healing. In the past, hospitals had solariums where patients could soak in the natural healing power of the sun. Sunlight not only nourishes our skin but also plays a crucial role in regulating our body’s circadian rhythm and boosting Vitamin D production.

Today, however, many are wary of direct sun exposure due to fear of skin damage. Yet, in moderation, sunlight is a powerful ally in our pursuit of health. It’s essential to balance protection with exposure to ensure you’re getting the benefits without overdoing it.

Embrace the healing powers of the sun as part of a balanced lifestyle. Allow yourself to experience the natural benefits of sunlight while protecting your skin. 🌞💊

This is what regenerative farming can look like. This is a picture of the Eden Project in Cornwall, England. Unlike conventional monoculture planting, this polyculture system diversifies the soil life, making plants less susceptible to pests and disease. (Photo by Franie Treetops @ Flickr).

Regenerative farming applies the Buddhist wisdom of pratītyasamutpāda (dependent origination) and inter-being to agriculture. One could also describe this as aligning with the ecological wisdom of Nature, what some African cultures call "ubuntu" - the Indigenous wisdom that all LIFE is interdependently related as a whole, and thrives best as One family -🙏💕

This past week, I was at the farmer's market grabbing farm fresh carrots and cucumbers and I made a comment to the farmer while he weighed my produce that I loved that they had pansies in their herb section and we both laughed about them not being very nutritious.

His jolly retort will always stick with me: "They are for emotional nutrition."

I think we all could use a little emotional nutrition in our lives right now. Eat flowers. Nourish your heart. 🌼🌸🌱

A good traveler has no fixed plans
and is not intent upon arriving.
A good artist lets his intuition
lead him wherever it wants.
A good scientist has freed himself of concepts
and keeps his mind open to what is.

Thus the Master is available to all people
and doesn't reject anyone.
He is ready to use all situations
and doesn't waste anything.
This is called embodying the light.

What is a good man but a bad man's teacher?
What is a bad man but a good man's job?
If you don't understand this, you will get lost,
however intelligent you are.
It is the great secret.

DailyTao.org displays a new chapter of the Tao Te Ching everyday, for your enjoyment and enlightmentment.
