Today, the Kansas Chapter celebrates our dedicated volunteers who serve as Outreach and HCP Ambassadors! Outreach Ambassadors connect with our Bag of Hope, Teen Pack and Adult Pack recipients, offering first-hand perspective on life with T1D, educational and support resources & more. And, in our newly formed HCP Ambassador role, volunteers help connect Breakthrough T1D to prospective healthcare partners.

Meet Erika Mansur — an attorney by day, a florist by heart. 💐

When her son Colton was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in 2020, Erika turned her lifelong love of floral design into something bigger. Drawing on years of experience — first in her mother's flower shop, and later as a florist through college and graduate school — she now creates elevated, high-end floral designs at wholesale cost so that more of every dollar goes directly toward finding a cure.

In partnership with We Got Flowers, Erika is transforming the 2026 Dream Gala ballroom into something unforgettable. And all of it is done in honor of Colton and every family impacted by T1D.
