Now we decided to just watch tons of videos and get instruction from my father in law a 3RD Dan in Judo and Olympic Hopeful in his day. And doing the NERD thing and reading every book on Ju-Jitsu, and just what it is exactly to be autistic. While doing my research I found that I may have it as well, and after a test or three I found I do too. I have already learned my fighting skills and learned it from some of the greatest institutions, The United States Army, my Grandfather and Father, The Caveman Crew, Master Sun Kahn's Torture Den. I didn't really like the way the others were doing things. Wearing the body out for no reason, running in 109' weather with no water and full contact sparring will not actually help some people. I know this because Ive seen it fail. This gym is for those people that cant go to it everyday like other gym rats. I also have Osteoarthritis. I dont like being held at all, let alone down in someone's guard while they hit me. My son, the first Greenbelt in The Vault system, doesn't really have the patience to be held down and hit either. So we do things VERY differently here!! We focus on using classic "Ali-esque" Boxing, Irish or "dirty" boxing and Muay Thai Kickboxing. Once to the ground, we transition into quick chokes and arm bars and planks. Its lightning quick and wicked brutal!! I have been fighting since I could walk and have learned several fighting styles, techniques and flashy powerful movements, and the boy has been training 4 styles for a year. You see Autism allows a person to see things differently so we train with these abilities. Like using a superman punch and a takedown in one clean motion, instead of hitting and waiting for the moment. We train muscle memory but not to the point of stupidity. Fight anyone of the fighters here and you'll quickly learn, that autism, obsessive compulsive, or even mania arent the stars here. Here you will see discipline and respect play the major factor in the fights and training. We start out with Yoga stretches and use 3 types of workouts three times a week, after an hour of fight work; weights, plyometric, and isometric. You should see the transformation that happens, its like a whole other person!! So please check out our pictures and leave us a like or some postive comments and we can keep beating autism and all the troubles that follow it, like patience, thinking for oneself, doing for oneself, lack of empathy, and of course not being bullied is a GREAT benefit!!!! "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”-Bruce Lee
Yeah well autism goes hand in hand with repetition and repetition and repetition!!!!
