🎅 🎄 Santa and Buddy the Elf made an extra special visit to patients in the HCA Midwest Health NICUs at Research Medical Center, Centerpoint Medical Center, Menorah Medical Center and Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

This is the 16th year that Overland Park Regional Medical Center neonatologist Dr. Rob Holcomb has dressed up as Santa to help spread holiday cheer to our tiniest patients and their families.

“This event means more to me each year,” said Dr. Holcomb. “This isn’t just a meaningful gift to our babies and their families. Today was incredibly special to our physicians, caregivers, staff and me. My role is Santa is truly my favorite day of the year, bringing love, memories, and finally a smile to our families who have been through so much.”

We're expanding high quality emergency care in Eastern Jackson County. Centerpoint Medical Center - a part of HCA Midwest Health, hosted a beam signing ceremony for our new ER of Independence located at 1545 East 23rd Street South. The ER of Independence, a dedicated emergency care facility, will provide a full range of medical services for children and adults experiencing emergent issues when it opens next fall.

This new, state-of-the-art ER will be staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, just like an emergency room housed within a hospital's walls. Physicians and colleagues will treat various general and specific conditions and offer several diagnostic services on-site.

This week, we hosted a beam signing ceremony for our new ER of Independence located at 1545 East 23rd Street South. The ER of Independence, a dedicated emergency care facility, will provide a full range of medical services for children and adults experiencing emergent issues when it opens next fall.

The beam signing ceremony was an exciting day as we celebrated a significant milestone in the development of the ER of Independence. It is a tradition in which a project’s stakeholders sign a significant structural beam before it is hoisted into place and becomes part of the building. It’s a way for people involved in the project and a part of our community to leave their mark as it’s being constructed.

This new, state-of-the-art ER will be staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, just like an emergency room housed within a hospital's walls. Physicians and colleagues will treat various general and specific conditions and offer several diagnostic services on-site.

We are excited to offer this additional ER facility to our community so that we can continue to provide critical, high-quality care to all those we serve.
