Big news! KidSight is partnering with KeraLink International to ensure that more Missouri children get the eyeglasses they need.

Under this partnership, KidSight will continue providing vision screenings and care coordination for Missouri children as KeraLink generously steps in to provide free eyeglasses for KidSight kids in need. Together, we’re removing barriers and making sure every child has the chance to see the world clearly.

The pilot program launches this fall, with the goal of eventually reaching thousands of children across Missouri each year. A huge thank you to KeraLink for joining us in this mission — we can’t wait to see the difference this partnership will make!

For nearly two decades, Lion Janice Bonnot has been a steady, smiling presence at KidSight vision screenings across mid-Missouri. As a proud member of the Jefferson City Host Lions Club, she first began volunteering for KidSight in 2006. Inspired by Helen Keller’s call for Lions to become “knights of the blind and crusaders against darkness,” Janice is dedicated to helping children see a brighter future.

At every screening, she connects with kids, explaining why good eyesight matters—whether it’s reading in the classroom, playing sports, or seeing the faces of family and friends. Over the years, she’s worked alongside countless KidSight staff members and continues to be inspired by their shared commitment to early detection and care. She told us, "I just love working with children, they bring so much joy to my day!"

Her passion and kindness make her a true ambassador for KidSight’s mission. Thank you, Janice!

Vision problems in children often go unnoticed. Kids may struggle in school, miss out on learning opportunities, or have trouble with physical activities—all because they can’t see clearly.

KidSight steps in to screen young children for potential vision issues before they impact learning. Our statewide screenings are fast, fun, and free, giving kids the best start in life.

Of course, we couldn't do it without our amazing volunteers - like the ones pictured from the Wildwood Area Lions Club! 🤓🦁

Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Lion Bob Crump, a dedicated Seymour Lions Club member whose passion for vision care runs deep. From supporting students with glasses to leading district projects like the Lions All-Star Basketball Classic, he’s been committed to helping kids see clearly for decades.

In 2021, Bob helped secure funds for a new KidSight screening camera through a matching LCIF grant. Now, Bob has stepped up even further! He is a KidSight volunteer conducting screenings across the Southwest region of the state and serves as a member of our Board of Directors.

We asked Bob why he chooses to support KidSight. He shared, “Hope is having good vision. [It] helps kids get good education and improves their lives.” Thank you for all that you do to help children in your community, Bob!
