Babies first feed! The female body is truly astounding! If breastfeeding is your goal, you can start that process as soon as a few minutes/an hour after birth! Baby will start giving signs like smacking and licking lips, kicking legs to find the breast and lots of blinking and looking around. They know what to do! But don't forget, they've never done it before so it may take a few times to get a good latch. Thats normal! You will figure it out together! Or you can call and she will help 😉

The monica is such a cool option when it works! Make sure to talk to your care provider and put this in your birth plan (or intermittent monitoring) if it is important to you! Be aware that these don't always do what we hope they will so flexibility is essential.
