This Thursday, March 19th, is the Alz. Jam Session!

The Alzheimer's Jam Session is a free, social gathering for individuals living with memory loss, mild cognitive impairment or dementia, their families and care partners. Join us while we sing songs, play instruments, move to the beat or simply listen while enjoying the music we will make. No musical experience is necessary, just show up and join the fun.

We are gathering in person at the Johnson County Central Resource Library, in the Carmack room from 2:30-3:30

Please register before hand so we know how many people to expect!

Dance for Living Well

This movement and music experience is designed for individuals living with Parkinson’s, led by a professional artist from the Kansas City Ballet, focusing on balance, coordination, memory, and flexibility.

No dance experience is needed! Just come as you are and enjoy the rhythm, connection and joy of movement.

Today we are highlighting a Song Spotlight featuring the Staple Singers.

The Staple Singers were a family band, featuring the Staples family. They got their early start in Chicago singing at church, and they quickly rose to prominence, singing at civil rights rallies alongside Martin Luther King Jr.

Their songs are widely recognized as an influential part of the soul genre, and they were a leading music group in the social activism of the 60s and beyond.
