Following a very successful Hold Me Tight workshop in May, I’m pleased to announce that I am offering two additional dates for Hold Me Tight workshops in 2023: July 14-15th and September 15-16th.

The Hold Me Tight program was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson who is the founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and has been taught thousands of times across the world. Couples who attended previous workshops, including the one I taught in May, have given positive feedback about the experience with their group and the materials. One couple told me that they feel that the workshop helped them move forward in the work they have been doing in couples counseling. Another couple stated that after the workshop they felt more hopeful about working through their relational struggles.

Hold Me Tight Couples Workshops present an opportunity for couples to learn about and engage in seven conversations that capture the defining moments in a love relationship.

I am offering a low rate of $540 per couple for the 10-hour workshop. In addition, there is an early bird rate available for $490 per couple. A non-refundable down payment of $75 is required to reserve your spot.

Registration at both sessions will be limited to ensure a great learning experience, so act quickly to ensure your spot.

Whenever I am working with clients who are in the midst of a crisis we always talk about the importance of self-care. In the midst of our current world crisis I am focusing a lot on my own self-care to allow me to continue to care for others. I have heard many different ideas about self-care and my favorite comes from a professor who encouraged us to think of self-care as doing things that fill us up. If your self-care routine doesn't help you feel stronger and give you courage to keep going, then I encourage you to examine your routine and change to something that does!

Here is an acronym that I use to remind me of some important things to do every day and especially focus on during crisis:

S-sleep (getting enough is vital for brain and body function)
L-liquid (water which is vital for brain and body function)
E-exercise (releases good chemicals for brain function)
E-eating (healthy food promotes healthy mind and body)
P-prayer (prayer or meditation helps our minds rejuvenate)

I would not typically post something like this on my business page because I respect and value the belief systems that each person brings with them to therapy. I do feel that the current world circumstances call on each of us to join together in calling upon our belief systems to seek relief from the physical, social, economic, and relational impacts of COVID-19. With that in mind, I offer this invitation to participate in an international day of fasting and prayer for relief:

*Fasting can mean whatever you're willing to do to show a sacrifice. Traditional fasting consist of giving up food & water for two meals, but whatever you can do will help, such as abstaining from treats, fast food or junk food. If health prevents you from fasting, pick something to fast from, such as television, social media or anything you enjoy that would could signify a sacrifice.
