MS Achievement Center - Kansas City

MS Achievement Center - Kansas City The MS Achievement Center provides a community-based wellness program for people with progressed MS

The MS Achievement Center exists to enhance the quality of life for people with progressed multiple sclerosis (MS). We accomplish this by providing a comprehensive program of physical rehabilitation, psychological support, social activities and health education for our members and their families. The program helps participants optimize their functional ability, move toward acceptance of their limi

tations and take charge of their own lives. Our goal is for our participants to live to their fullest potential. The MS Achievement Center is a unique program that addresses a very real need in our community.

We hosted our first Health Conference at MS Achievement Center this summer. The conference, "Beyond the Diagnosis," brought together people with chronic neurological conditions, carepartners, students and health professionals for education and connection. As one participant said, "I am walking away with renewed energy, a deeper understanding and fresh ideas to carry forward. Thanks to MSAC for a fantastic day of interaction, collaboration and education."
We are brainstorming ideas for our next conference in 2026!

Did you know the MS Achievement Center works with occupational and physical therapy students from KU, Rockhurst, MU, Hanover and other colleges and universities in the area? The students gain valuable experience in working with people facing the challenges of MS, and our MSAC members enjoy connecting with and learning from the students.
Last week students shared this info about conserving energy during Brain Fit!

Many people with MS discover an improved sense of well-being and greater satisfaction with their symptom management by taking vitamins, minerals, herbs and other supplements. (But as noted in the graphic for this post, always check first with your healthcare provider before starting any vitamins/supplements.)
