IKanEat Study: Child Feeding and G-tube Tube Weaning Program UPDATE: As of August 2024, the iKanEat study is no longer enrolling new patients. Study results will be available in 2025. There is no cost to participate.

If new studies open in the future, we will update the website. Thank you to the families who participated, and for your interest. Children from 9 months old to 9 years, 0 months old are eligible to participate in this 6 month study. Your child will be randomly assigned to receive an experimental drug or placebo and receive feeding skills coaching to help your child learn to eat by mouth. Once entered into the study, all visits with the research team are also provided at no cost. We will closely monitor your child throughout the study.

The National Institutes of Health is funding a research study looking at a way to transition a child from tube feeding to oral feeding.

Children from 9 months old to 8 years old are eligible to participate in this 6 month study. Your child will be randomly assigned to receive an experimental drug or placebo and receive feeding skills coaching to help your child learn to eat by mouth.

There is no cost to participate. Once entered into the study, all visits with the research team are also provided at no cost. We will closely monitor your child throughout the study.
