Can you spot the difference?
When products look alike in packaging, color, or containers, it’s easy to mix them up—and a simple mix‑up can lead to an accidental poisoning. To help prevent “look‑alike” mistakes:

🔴 Store medications and household products up high and out of children’s reach
🔴 Read labels carefully and double‑check before using any product or medication
🔴 Never leave young children alone with medications or chemicals

If someone uses the wrong product, call 1‑800‑222‑1222. Poison Help is available 24/7 with confidential, non‑judgmental, and free expert guidance.

Medicine safety starts with the label.
Always read and follow the instructions to be sure you’re taking the right medicine, in the right amount, at the right time.

If it helps you see more clearly, put on your glasses and turn on the lights before reading the label or measuring a dose. Small print can be tricky, and good lighting makes a big difference.

These simple steps can go a long way in helping you take medicine safely.

Keeping a current medicine list is one of the easiest ways to stay safe and organized. An accurate list helps prevent mistakes and makes it easier for your healthcare providers to give you the best care.
Your list should include:
• All prescription medicines
• All over the counter medicines
• Any vitamins and supplements you take

A complete list helps your care team spot possible interactions, avoid duplicate medicines, confirm correct doses, and make safer decisions during appointments or emergencies. Bring this list to every healthcare visit so your providers have the full picture and can help you stay safe.
