Hello all!
I've created this page to communicate about D's wants and needs as he deals with renal failure.
He has IgAN, stage 5 renal failure.
He currently is not working. He is a stay at home dad, taking care of his two boys.
Currently, he is in Overland Park Regional Medical Center waiting for the surgeon to take a look at his wrists. He was told his bones would be a bit brittle so now he has fractures in his wrists and an infection that won't go away.
He has been called twice with an offer of a kidney. Both times the hospital denied the kidney due to cellulitis in his hands. Every time he has an infection, he is taken off of the transplant list.
This sucks.
He is suffering from depression. Staying at home and managing his two boys while being sick, is mentally and physically exhausting.
What I ask from all of you, any of your friends, their friends, strangers, anyone willing to take a couple minutes, is to mail him a Christmas card.
That's it.
Short, sweet and simple.
Anything encouraging, filled with hope, love, good juju, prayers, whatever words you want to include in the card, would be greatly appreciated. I know he would feel it. Sometimes that's all a person needs to keep going. I will post later with an address the cards can be mailed to.
Words and prayers do matter.

P.S. Think of this as a surprise Christmas gift of hope and love to someone who desperately needs it. Keeping this under wraps is the goal until he opens his new p.o. box!!! :D
