Parkinson’s Disease Center of Excellence

The Parkinson’s Disease Clinic, staffed by Rajesh Pahwa, M.D., an internationally recognized expert in the diagnosis, treatment and research of Parkinson's disease, offers diagnostic and treatment services for persons with Parkinson’s disease and related conditions including essential tremor, progressive supranuclear palsy and multiple system atrophy. Educational information concerning Parkinson’s disease is also provided. Various educational programs are presented each year. In addition to the usual medical treatments, surgical interventions for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders are possible and include deep brain stimulation of the thalamus, globus pallidus and the subthalamic nucleus. Participation in research through the Parkinson’s Disease Center is offered. Patients may also participate in clinical research pertaining to investigational medications. The center is recognized as a Center of Excellence in treatment, research and outreach by the National Parkinson Foundation.
