🎭 Mystery, laughter, and a whole lot of fun!
Our night out to see Clue at the New Theatre & Restaurant was a total hit. The cast wowed us, the sets were stunning, the service was top-notch—and don’t even get us started on the food! 🍽️✨

Oh, and spoiler alert... it wasn’t just Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick! 😆🔍

Our Christmas in July celebration was full of laughter, frozen hot chocolate, and a hilarious white elephant gift exchange. Who says you can’t be festive in flip-flops?

Our resident volunteers are sharing their love for Bridge by teaching beginner lessons right here at McCrite Plaza! 🃏🧠 It's been wonderful watching new players learn the ropes with guidance from experienced hands. More than just a card game—it's connection, strategy, and a whole lot of fun!

Stacy is a friendly and familiar face to residents and their families. Her warmth and professionalism shine every day—especially when she's helping visitors feel right at home during tours. We’re so grateful for the way she represents our community!

☀️💛 Last week’s McCrite Plaza Breakfast Club was one for the books!

Each month, we’re honored to host our incredible community partners for a morning of connection, education, and collaboration. But this time, the group went a step further—coming together to assemble Warm Weather Bags for our friends at Shelter KC. 💼🧢🧴

The supplies were generously donated by attendees, then packed with care and compassion to help support our neighbors experiencing homelessness during the summer months.

We are so grateful for the heart this group brings—not just to our monthly meetings, but to the greater community. This is what it’s all about. 💛

🎉 Please join us in congratulating Jayme Butler, this year’s Best Darn Kid Scholarship winner at McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff! 🎓💜✂️

Jayme, daughter of our incredible Skilled Nursing Administrator Melanie Butler, recently graduated from Santa Fe High School and earned her Cosmetology certificate from Washburn Tech. She’s now a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Kansas—and she’s just getting started!

From mastering cuts and color to diving into extensions and skincare, Jayme has big dreams of one day owning her own salon. The Best Darn Kid scholarship will help her take advanced courses and possibly begin her journey toward becoming a licensed esthetician. Her dedication and passion are truly inspiring! 💇‍♀️💅✨

We’re so proud to support bright, hardworking young adults like Jayme. Congratulations and best of luck on this exciting path—you’ve got the McCrite family cheering you on every step of the way! 💖

💍 58 Years of Love 💍
When you’ve spent nearly six decades together, every day is special—but this one was extra magical. 💫

John surprised his beautiful bride, Becky, with a party to celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary, and it was everything love stories are made of. With help from our amazing Life Enrichment Director, Tierra, he pulled off a sweet and meaningful celebration surrounded by family and friends. 🥂💐

And the best part? John showed up wearing a shirt with her photo on the front—and their wedding picture on the back. 😍 Now that’s how you honor a lifetime of love.

Here’s to John and Becky—may we all be lucky enough to know a love so pure and enduring. ❤️

We recently had the absolute pleasure of welcoming our McCrite Plaza Topeka residents to McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff! 💜

Our wonderful Briarcliff Welcome Ambassadors joined the visiting residents for a lovely lunch, followed by lively entertainment from John, Buff, and Rod—who had the whole room tapping their toes! (Fun fact: Rod is the talented son-in-law of our very own Curt and Gerry Walther.)

Before heading home, everyone enjoyed a cheerful cocktail hour and some heartfelt conversation. It was such a joy to spend time together—new memories made and new friendships formed. 🥂

Our Story

Pat and Judy McCrite joined their lives more than 45 years ago, built a family and strengthened their commitment to each other every day. That commitment to family was the foundation of McCrite Plaza, the modern forward-thinking senior living community they founded in 1975.

Compassionate caregiving has always been a part of their family. Pat’s mother worked in senior housing, and Judy worked in early childhood and special education. All five of their children found their life purpose in senior caregiving. All are involved in the family business.

The decades have brought changes, but the McCrites’ commitment to providing the kindest and most loving service has stayed strong.
