🎨 It’s never too late to learn something new! 🎨

Watercolor Basics and Techniques, Part I has quickly become a favorite at McCrite Plaza. This new class has already been held twice, and attendance keeps growing each week.

The class is led by the talented Sadowna, whose mother in law calls McCrite home. We are grateful for the time and creativity she shares with our residents. And a thank you to her husband, Mark, who you may also spot behind the wheel of our bus from time to time. We are fortunate to have them as part of the McCrite family!

Restaurant Week at McCrite

In addition to our outings to local spots participating in Kansas City’s Restaurant Week, we brought the celebration home and hosted our own Restaurant Week right here at McCrite. 🍽️

Our culinary team put together a special menu, and residents enjoyed a fresh take on some favorite dishes without ever leaving home...and gratefully so, because it was a cold one out there!

We rolled out the red carpet for a very special premiere 🎬✨
Our community had the honor of hosting a screening of Soul on Fire—a powerful true story centered on resilience, hope, and the strength of family.

The evening began with a special message from Frank Merwald, post-production manager of the film and brother of our own Pat Cole. From there, we revisited red carpet memories, shared personal stories, and reflected on the experience of meeting the real-life family behind the film, along with Hollywood stars John Corbett and William H. Macy.

It was an evening filled with pride, connection, and meaningful conversation—one we’ll be talking about for a long time.
