✨ “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”
-Martin Luther King Jr.

Today, we reflect on this message through the lens of pediatric care.

Caring for children means listening closely, treating every family with respect, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow up healthy, supported, and seen.🤗

✨ At Health Care for Children, we believe that serving others starts with compassion—meeting families where they are, advocating for children’s health, and building trust one visit at a time.

In honor of MLK Day, we remain committed to caring for every child with dignity, equity, and heart. 🩷💙

When your child wakes up with a cough, runny nose, or fever, it can be tough to know what’s causing it. Is it COVID-19? The flu? Could it be RSV? These viruses share many symptoms, especially in kids, and they tend to circulate at the same time of year. At Health Care for Children, in Kansas […....

❄️ Baby, it’s cold outside — but car seat safety still comes first.

When it comes to coats and car seats, bulky or puffy layers under the harness can be dangerous. In a crash, that extra padding can compress, leaving straps too loose when your child needs protection most.

👉 Winter car seat safety tips:

🔹Skip snowsuits, bunting bags, and bulky coats under the harness

🔹Dress kids in thin, snug layers (fleece is a great option)

🔹Add hats, mittens, and boots for warmth

🔹Once buckled correctly, place blankets or coats OVER the straps

For older kids, unzip coats so seat belts stay low on the hips and snug across the chest

💡 Pro tip: Kids can wear their puffy coat backwards after buckling to stay warm until the car heats up.

We want all kids warm AND safe this winter!
