The University of Kansas Lipid Clinic staff along with FH patient advocates, volunteered at the The FH Foundation table during the Golfology tournament this morning at Shadow Glen Golf Course. We were able to discuss with players, volunteers, and Baby Jay the importance of raising awareness for Familial Hypercholesterolemia, the most common genetic condition behind early heart disease.

Dr. Moriarty and Lauryn presented a today at on the study design and rationale behind the trial for ’s disease patients.

The better poster design was a great success and we included a short animation outlining the trial design, which we are excited to share in the coming days.

KUMC Clin Pharm staff attended the “Research Heros” event hosted by Dr. Jeff burns and the KU Alzheimer’s Disease Center at Liberty Memorial on Wednesday. We were able to showcase the trial, alongside all of the ongoing research efforts to treat, prevent, and search for a cure for ’s disease at KUMC.

Thanks to everyone we were able to speak to about participating in research as well as to the Alzheimer’s Disease Center for hosting a great event and all of the incredible work they’re doing to lead the fight against this disease! The single largest challenge to finding a cure to Alzheimer’s disease is finding study participants.
